Recognizing the benefits from hunting to Delaware County and the Catskills region, Delaware County Chamber of Commerce Program Manager Lillian Browne gave a presentation on the economic impacts of hunting and the benefit of partnering with Hunting Works for New York to the Walton Chamber of Commerce’s sportsmen’s expo committee in January.

Delaware County Chamber of Commerce Program Manager Lillian Browne gave a presentation on the benefits of partnership with Hunting Works New York to the Walton Chamber of Commerce’s sportsmen and outdoor expo committee earlier this month.
Hunting Works for New York, a coalition of sixty businesses and organizations across the state, exists to promote the partnership between hunting and local economies.
An individual hunter spends an average of $2,000 per year on hunting and hunters in New York spend $484 million per year on hunting related equipment alone. “I can attest to some of those numbers with the money my own family spends on hunting and the outdoors each year,” said Browne, who is a licensed guide in New York.
The Walton Chamber of Commerce is hoping to capitalize on that market and has planned their inaugural All-Seasons Sportsmen’s Expo for May 5 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Walton.
